Visakhapatnam: Senor YSRC leader and MLC Duvvada Srinivas lodged a complaint with Tekkali police in Srikakulam district against his wife Vani, daughter Haindavai and five others alleging that they trespassed and damaged his property. Vani also lodged a complaint with the same police alleging threat to her life and trespass.
The police said cases were filed based on both the complaints under various sections of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhitha.
"Srinivas is inside his house and his wife and daughter are sitting in a shed in front of the house staging a dharna. No arrests were made so far,’’ the inspector said.
Earlier, a high drama prevailed at Srinivas' new house on late Friday evening when Vani and Haindavi with the help of their relatives broke the compound gate and opened the locks of the main door. They tried to barge into the house but Srinivas' aides pushed them out. Srinivas immediately rushed to the police station and lodged the complaint. It may be recalled that he applied for a gun license on August 5 fearing threat to his life.
Trouble began two days ago when Vani leveled allegations against a woman called Divvala Madhuri that she was having an illegal relationship with her husband Srinvas. On Wednesday Vani went to his house along with her elder daughter but the security guard did not open the gates. She waited for some time and returned. She told media on Thursday that Madhuri was having a relationship with Srinivas creating unhappiness in the family.
Reacting to this, Madhuri told media in Srikakulam that she was unnecessarily being dragged into their family affairs. “If Vani has issues with Srinivas let her settle with him and why drag me?, she asked.
She said Vani assassinates her character, tarnishing her image and that of her parents in society. ``She never wanted to live with Srinivas. She went to YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy and sought a ticket to contest Tekkali Assembly constituency,’’ Madhuri said.
Answering a volley of questions, Madhuri said she never had an affair with Srinivas but Vani spread rumors about her relationship with Srinivas. When she wanted to commit suicide, it was Srinivas who rescued her and assured to take care of her. Srinivas’ elder daughter Haindavi said her father walked into Madhuri’s trap from which he is unable to come out.
