YSRC relocating central office to enhance accessibility

VIJAYAWADA: YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has started taking measures to re-strengthen the party from grass root levels after the party’s big defeat in the AP elections.

As part of it, YSRC central office will be relocated next to Jagan's residence in Tadepalli to enhance accessibility of leaders and cadres to him. It is expected to be functional from June 10.

In the beginning, YSRC state office used to be in Hyderabad. It shifted to Vijayawada in 2017. Subsequently, Jagan Mohan Reddy purchased land in Tadepalli and constructed his house. He built the party’s central office beside the house. The party took up all political activities from this office till the 2019 elections, when the YSRC chief became the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Reluctant to function from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in the state secretariat at Velagapudi, Jagan Mohan Reddy converted his party office into CM’s Camp Office. He shifted the YSRC central office to another premises in Tadepalli.

The CM’s Camp Office will now turn into YSRC’s central office.

The gap between Jagan Mohan Reddy and leaders and cadres largely increased due to a lack of communication after he had become the chief minister. After declaration of the 2024 results, several party leaders have alleged that leaders like Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and others prevented them from taking various issues to the notice of Jagan Mohan Reddy, which denied him information about the ground reality.

Senior analysts point out that the YSRC chief had conducted only one plenary on July 7 and July 8 in 2022 in the past five years. Barring that, he has not conducted any party meetings with the leaders and cadres.

Analysts point out that earlier, Jagan Mohan Reddy had been in touch with ground realities and public issues, as he interacted with party cadres and people in general during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra. This led to formulation of Navaratnalu, which gave YSRC a landslide victory in 2019 elections.

However, after becoming the CM, his interactions with party workers and people got nullified, which led to a failure in prepare an impactful party manifesto, which could have ignited the imagination of people.

YSRC leaders say Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision to relocate the YSRC central office is aimed at improving accessibility to workers. This will help YSRC become the “Voice of the Voiceless” in all aspects.
