YSRC's Botsa Satyanarayana elected as MLC unanimously
Visakhapatnam: Former minister and YSRC senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana was unanimously elected as MLC under the local body authority quota on Friday.
The NDA Alliance abstained from contesting at the last minute while independent candidate Sheikh Seifiullah withdrew his nomination.
After withdrawal time ended at 3 pm, Returning Officer K. Mayur Ashok has declared that Botsa Satyanarayana was elected unanimously and handed over the winning certificate. The byelection was caused after Vamsi Krishna Yadav resigned as MLC last December.
Speaking to the media after the formal announcement of his election, Satyanarayana said he was happy to get elected on an auspicious day of ‘Sravana Sukravaram’. He thanked party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for nominating him for this byelection.
He was accompanied by Rajya Sabha member Golla Baburao, Mayor Golagani Harivenkata Kumari, MLCs Suresh Babu, Varudu Kalyani, Kumbha Ravi Babu, ZP chairperson J. Subhadra, former minister Gudivada Amarnath, former MLAs U.V. Ramana Murthy Raju, Karanam Dharmasri, Adeep Raju, Nagireddy and Kambala Jogulu among other leaders.
