AP: Op Services Halted due to Doctors' Strike
Kakinada: Both government and private doctors went on strike on Saturday, halting non-emergency medical services in response to the rape and murder of a postgraduate medical student at R.G. Kar Hospital in Kolkata and recent attacks on medical officers and students. Private hospitals suspended outpatient treatments and postponed non-emergency surgeries.
Doctors in Rajamahendravaram, Kakinada, Eluru, Jangareddygudem, and other towns held protests, calling for the government to enact laws to protect the medical fraternity and impose stringent punishments.
