AP Polls Were Tampered With at High level, Says Narayanaswamy
Tirupati: Former deputy chief minister K Narayanaswamy has made some controversial statements about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the recent election results in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media in Chittoor on Monday, Narayanaswamy suggested irregularities in the voting process in AP.
The YSRC leader expressed bewilderment at the defeat of the YSRC despite the good work done by Jagan Mohan Reddy as chief minister in the last five years. “We suspect the election process was tampered with. The entire country is aware of how the three-party alliance secured victory,” he said.
The former Dy. CM, exasperated by alleged assaults on YSRC leaders, vented his frustration towards the NDA with a provocative statement, declaring that MLAs, MPs, and other political figures who contested on YSRC banner should be 'summarily eliminated.' He insinuated that such actions would leave the NDA with no significant opposition, allowing them to govern both the country and state with unchecked authority.
Narayanaswamy criticized the “harassment of the poor voters who supported the YSRC by the TD-led dispensation. In a democracy, everyone has the right to contest elections and vote for their preferred candidate, he stressed.
He also condemned the recent attacks on statues of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and accused the police of being passive spectators to such violence against the YSRC and its supporters in villages.
