AP: Two Former MLAs Distance Themselves from YSRC
Kakinada: Two prominent YSRC leaders Pendem Dorababu of Pithapuram and Parvatha Purnachandra Prasad of Prathipadu in Kakinada district, both former MLAs, have distanced themselves from the YSR Congress Party. Both maintain that YSRC had not recognised their services.
Dorababu told Deccan Chronicle that he had served Pithapuram constituency for two and half decades. People of the constituency had elected him as MLA twice.
While maintaining that he wants to continue serving the people, he has not indicated whether he wants to join any other political party. He, however, maintained that nearly 40 sarpanches, 30 upa-sarpanches and 25 to 30 councillors still support him. He said these leaders as well as his supporters could join the party of their choice.
The former MLA requested Pithapuram MLA and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to carry out development works that could not be completed by him in Pithapuram. He also asked the Deputy CM to modernise the Godavari delta and save it river and sea erosion during floods.
Another former MLA Parvatha Purnachandra Prasad declared that he is disgusted with politics. While maintaining that he has not quit YSRC, he emphasised that he would like to focus on his business and agriculture.
Incidentally, both Dorababu and Purnchandra Prasad had been denied tickets by the YSRC Party in the 2024 elections.
