Vijayawada: With the Kharif season approaching, agriculture minister K. Atchannaidu has issued orders to authorities to ensure that farmers do not face a shortage of seeds and fertilisers.
The minister held a review meeting with officials of the agriculture department on Saturday. He said Telugu Desam government is farmer-friendly and gives top priority to farmers.
Atchannaidu said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is planning to distribute PM Kisan to farmers on June 18. He instructed officials to make foolproof arrangements for the same. He said all eligible farmers will get PM Kisan.
The minister ordered agriculture, horticulture and other department officials to be available to farmers during the Kharif season without fail. “There must be no scope for complaints,” he underlined.
Principal secretary Gopalakrishna Dwivedi and officials of agriculture, horticulture, marketing and fisheries participated in the meeting.
