BJP’s call for CBI probe a ploy to help BRS: Congress
Hyderabad: Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy on Friday alleged that the BJP leaders in Telangana had been demanding a CBI inquiry into the phone tapping incident with an intent to help the BRS and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Jeevan Reddy said he was surprised as the BJP leaders staged a protest at Dharna Chowk demanding the CBI inquiry into the phone tapping case. The BRS had defeated the BJP in the Telangana elections and in return, the BJP supported BRS.
With regard to the Kaleshwaram project, Jeevan Reddy said: "We have been studying reports sent by central teams during the five months of the Congress government rule. The government has ordered a judicial committee to investigate Kaleshwaram irregularities," Jeevan Reddy said.
The BJP threatens political leaders and businessmen by registering false cases by the CBI, ED, income-tax department and others so that they join the party. The BJP cannot save the BRS chief by making stage shows in Telangana on the pretext of protests, Jeevan Reddy said.
