Bogus Job Firms Mushrooming, Fleecing Youths in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Bogus placement firms are duping youths and collecting hefty sums from them under the guise of providing them high-paying jobs in foreign countries. In all cases, the jobless youths end up being cheated.

The agencies lure youths with high-paying jobs and collect up to Rs.10 lakh from each of them, depending on the financial status of the job-seekers, reliable sources disclosed.

After collecting money in installments, the consultancy owners tell the applicants that the placement could not be secured due to technical reasons.

When the job-seekers demand return of their money, the consultant owners threaten them with dire consequences and even warn them of lodging a police complaint.

These fake agents having offices in Santoshnagar, Malakpet, Bhavaninagar, Hussaini Alam, Chandrayangutta, have hundreds of sub

agents who work on commission and whose job is to target unemployed youth and students by promising them jobs in Canada, Hungary, UK and other countries, Mohamed Basith, a social worker cum advocate of Rein Bazaar, disclosed.

They operate from their offices with display boards stating jobs placements in Canada, Australia, Hungary, UK within 15 days.

Mohammed Taher, 23, a complainant, said he along with one of his friends met Sikander Aalam and paid him `1 lakh for two youths. They were promised a work permit in Canada with a salary of $14 per hour.

After inquiry, it was revealed that Sikander’s son Sikandar Aslam ran Trim Lin Travels in New Delhi and sent forged appointment letters on their Whatsapp number mentioning that they were selected by Loblaw Companies Limited. Later,

Sikender Aslam took the victims to Canadian embassy in Delhi and gave them a biometric letter at a hotel. Later, it was proved that the appointment letter was false.

The police found out that the accused defrauded several innocent individuals by falsely promising them overseas jobs.
