Chittoor Cops Recover 2,030 Mobile Phones Via CEIR Portal
Tirupati: The Chittoor district police have successfully recovered 2,030 mobile phones valued at approximately Rs. 4.3 crore through the Chat Bot service (9440900004) and the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. This operation, conducted in seven phases, culminated recently with the recovery of 330 phones worth about Rs.70 lakh.
Superintendent of police V.N. Manikanth Chandolu commended the Chittoor police Chat Bot team for their impressive achievement, having recovered these 330 phones within just one month. The phones were retrieved from not only within Chittoor district but also from various states, including Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra. All recovered devices have been returned to their rightful owners.
At a press conference on Thurday, SP Chandolu highlighted the critical role mobile phones play in modern life and the significant distress caused by their loss. He urged the public to take advantage of the Chat Bot and CEIR portal services for recovering lost or stolen phones, noting that this process can be completed without the need for a formal police complaint.
The recovery operation was overseen by Additional SP S. Arifullah and CI S. Ramanjaneyulu, with key contributions from Chat Bot team members Bapuji and Srinivasan. SP Chandolu praised their dedication and assured that efforts to recover the remaining pending phones will continue, with the goal of reuniting all owners with their devices as swiftly as possible.
