Counting on RU campus in Kurnool: Collector
Kurnool: Rayalaseema University in Kurnool is gearing up for the election counting process, with 16 counting halls established across the campus. District collector G. Srijana has announced that the counting will take place in the engineering block, life sciences block, and library block of the university.
On Tuesday, Srijana held a meeting with representatives of various political parties at the collectorate conference hall to discuss the management of the election counting. She stated that those who wish to be appointed as counting agents must submit their names by June 1 to receive photo ID cards and table badges.
Srijana explained that counting agents must bring their appointment letter, ID card, and declaration letter on the day of counting. Mobile phones will not be allowed inside the counting halls.
The EVM machines for the Kurnool, Adoni Assembly, and Parliament segment are secured in the Life Sciences Block, while those for Kodumur, Yemmiganur, Aluru, and Panyam Assembly and Parliament segment are in the Engineering Block. The machines for Mantralayam and Pathikonda Assembly and Parliament segment are in the Library Block, all with three levels of security.
Postal ballots will be shifted from the district treasury office to the counting hall at Rayalaseema University at 4 am on the counting day, in the presence of political party representatives. District revenue officer K. Madhusudan Rao, representatives of political parties, and others participated in the programme.
