Education Department Recalls Telugu Textbooks Still Naming KCR as CM
Hyderabad: The school education department on Thursday has recalled Telugu textbooks for Classes 1 to 10 just a day after schools reopened on June 12. The textbooks, distributed on Wednesday, have outdated information in the foreword, listing K. Chandrashekar Rao as Chief Minister and Sabitha Indira Reddy as education minister.
Teachers and students noticed the error and reported it to officials. The department has asked all principals to return the textbooks immediately and plans to hold a meeting to decide on the next steps.
In a previous similar incident, stickers were used to correct the information. However, it is unclear if this method will be used again or if new textbooks will be printed.
The recall has caused some disruption, but officials are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, sources said. Further instructions are expected after the meeting to be held soon.
