AP Finance Minister Keshav Wants Jagan Reddy in Assembly

Vijayawada: Payyavula Keshav took charge as Finance Minister in the state Secretariat at Velagapudi on Wednesday. He also holds charge of Legislative Affairs.

At the outset, the minister urged former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to be present in the state assembly to discuss public issues. Chandrababu Naidu as opposition leader had boycotted the sessions for most part.

Minister Keshav said, “We will conduct the assembly sessions in ways as would benefit the people and ensure the welfare of the people. “The Telugu Desam is ready raise public issues in the assembly though it is the main ruling party. We will work hard to provide transparent governance and ensure accountability,” he said.

About the finance position of AP, Keshav said he would first have to review the situation. “We are firm on improving the state’s financial position to facilitate faster development.”

He said the chief minister would release White Papers on all sectors including the state’s financial position.

On his first day, the minister held a meeting with top officials of the finance department. He asked them to give him a report on all types of debts and the state's present financial condition.
