Nalgonda: Tension prevailed at Narketpally when an independent candidate for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates constituency by-elections Palakuri Ashok resorted to dharna in front of the police station alleging that the Congress leaders attacked him.
Along with his followers, he held sit-in at Narketpally police station.
Ashok said that he went to a function hall located on the outskirts of Narketpally after getting an information that money was being distributed to the graduate voters. When he try to capture it in his mobile phone, the Congress leaders snatched cellphone from him and damaged it. He alleged that the Congress leaders were also tried to attack him.
Responding to his request, a gunman was allocated to Ashok for his security. Police security to Ashok would continue until completion of polling of the day.
