Hyderabad: Peddlers Rope in Minor Girls to Transport Smuggled Ganja

Hyderabad: For the first time, the Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) found smugglers using a minor girl to transport smuggled ganga. The smugglers are absconding while the minor has been sent to a state home. Police found that the gang would pay Rs.5,000 per trip. They are handed the contraband in Odisha, and payment is made upon delivery in Mumbai.

On August 3, the GRP intercepted a 17-year-old girl at the Secunderabad station and found that she was carrying 14 kg of dry ganja worth over Rs.3.5 lakh.

The girl hailed from Maharashtra. She had gone to Chitrapur in Odisha along with two smugglers, Karan Shasirao Pawar and Deepak Shasirao Pawar, who are absconding allegedly went to Chitrapur in Odisha to smuggle the contraband to Mumbai. On their way back, the duo abandoned the girl and the narcotics and fled upon seeing police personnel approaching them.

Stating that it was the first such instance, Secunderabad GRP inspector B. Saieashwar Goud said that the smugglers earlier would use minor boys to smuggle ganja.
