Hyderabad: Police Rescue Businessman After High Dramatic Kidnap
Hyderabad: High drama unfolded after Narsingi police caught the abductors of a businessman when they received a call from his wife, stating that her husband had been kidnapped by two assailants.
When Mallem Sheshu Vardhan Reddy, 38, was travelling in his business partner Sushmita's car on Saturday evening, he was waylaid at Narsingi Rotary-II.
It was around 9.3 0pm when two men named Ande Kranthi Kumar and Kellelu Sandeep, intercepted his car, beat up Reddy, and threatened to kill him. Then they forced him into another car and drove off, intending to recover money from him.
The victim's wife Mallem Aruna called his phone at 10.10 pm, only to be told that he is kidnapped. She dialled 100 and informed police that her husband had a recent altercation with Kranthi Kumar over business transactions. It was reported that they earlier had threatened him over the same.
“After arriving at the scene with the police, I found blood in the car, and I was extremely upset about what happened. However, I thank the police for rescuing him quickly,” she said.
“We alerted various toll gates and surrounding police stations and with the help of Addakula police, we arrested the suspects at Addakula toll gate, Mahabubnagar, and rescued Sheshu Vardhan Reddy at 12.30 am,” said Narsingi inspector Guduru Hari Krishna Reddy.
“The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused were involved in business transactions related to electronics and gold. The accused had given money to the victim which the latter never returned. This led to the kidnapping, beating, and threats as the accused tried to collect money from him. We caught the suspects when they were fleeing,” the inspector said.
