Hyderabad: Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) officials raided three different places and seized rice meant for the public distribution system (PDS) which was being transported illegally.
In the first case, the V&E officials seized 5.5 tonnes of PDS rice packed in 92 white bags at Chittapuram of Valigonda mandal in Nalgonda district. It was revealed that one D. Manohar was transporting the rice.
In another case, officials seized 50 tonnes of PDS rice at Pedda Golconda of Shamshabad and identified the accused as P. Narender and P. Srikanth. The total worth of of the PDS rice was Rs.18.5 lakh.
In Khammam, the V&D officials detained a truck at Thirumalayapalem of Khammam district and found 26 quintals of PDS rice which was being transported illegally.
