42 Indian bullfrogs seized
Acting on credible information, ACF Jayesh K.C. and RFO Vishwanath A.V., under the guidance of Deputy Conservator of Forest Ravishankar, intercepted a bus near the Kali River Bridge in Karwar
Karwar: Forest Department officials seized 42 Indian Bullfrogs while being illegally transported from Karwar to Goa on Tuesday morning.
Acting on credible information, ACF Jayesh K.C. and RFO Vishwanath A.V., under the guidance of Deputy Conservator of Forest Ravishankar, intercepted a bus near the Kali River Bridge in Karwar.
Upon inspection, they discovered 42 Indian Bullfrogs in the luggage compartment.
The forest officials arrested the driver, Siddhesh, and the conductor, Janu Lakshman.
The bus and the frogs were seized, and a case was registered under sections 2(1), 9, 39, 49B, 51, and 55 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. The accused were produced before the court and were granted bail.
