Actor Darshan’s Family Visits Him at Ballari Prison
MANGALURU: Actor Darshan’s family, including his mother and sister, visited him at Ballari Central Prison on Thursday.
Darshan’s mother Meena, sister Divya, and brother-in-law Manjunath arrived at the prison in the morning. Around 11.30 am, Darshan stepped out of his cell to meet them in the visitors' room, where they spoke for half an hour.
Sources revealed that Darshan appeared visibly emotional upon meeting his mother after a long time. Despite his typically serious demeanor, he was seen smiling as he returned to his cell after the meeting.
During the visit, the family handed him fruits and bakery items.
In response to Darshan’s request, prison authorities have provided a television in his cell, though only with limited channels.
The actor is said to have asked for additional facilities, but officials have reportedly made it clear that only those allowed under the prison manual would be granted.
Actor Darshan has been in judicial custody for 100 days, facing charges related to the murder of Renukaswami.
Initially held at Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, he was transferred to Ballari Central Prison on August 29 following a brewing controversy.
The controversy erupted after viral photos and video clips surfaced showing Darshan drinking coffee, smoking a cigarette, and allegedly making a video call from inside the prison.
