Belagavi SDA Found Dead, WhatsApp Message Sparks Investigation
BELAGAVI: Rudranna Yadavannavar (35), a Second Division Assistant (SDA) at the Tahsildar office in Belagavi, was found dead in the office on Tuesday morning.
Police said that his body was discovered hanging with a veil.
According to sources, Rudranna had sent a message in a WhatsApp group on Monday night, naming three individuals as responsible for his death. The screenshot of this message has gone viral on social media. Among the names mentioned were the Tahsildar and a close aide of a politician.
In the message, he expressed resentment about alleged unfairness in the office and urged his colleagues to unite against this.
Yadavannavar, who had been transferred to Saundatti, had not yet joined his new posting.
His mother broke down upon receiving news of her son's death. She recalled that they were having dinner on Monday night when he stopped eating and went to receive a phone call. She was unaware of the caller's identity and what discussions they had. She also did not know when he went to the office but learned of his death when officials contacted the family on Tuesday morning.
"His mobile, watch and helmet were on the table in the house and I thought he had gone for a walk," she said.
Police told Deccan Chronicle that no suicide note was found apart from the WhatsApp message. The family has filed a complaint, and a case has been registered for further investigation.
