In a first, Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru has joined forces with an artist to create a dedicated anthem. BLR Airport in collaboration with three-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej has recently launched its official anthem. The captivating track, performed by two-time Grammy Award winner Lonnie Park, beautifully captures the essence of BLR Airport, reflecting the diverse emotions and experiences of travellers' journeys. Deccan Chronicle got in touch with Hari Marar, MD & CEO, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).

What inspired BLR Airport to collaborate with an artist to create a dedicated anthem, and what does this initiative represent for the airport's brand and identity?

The concept of creating an anthem for BLR Airport was Ricky's brainchild. He initially created a tune that we really liked, and we decided to transform it into an anthem. In conversations with Ricky, his admiration for the Airport became evident, and we felt there was no one better suited for the task.

Ricky has produced a song that perfectly captures our vision.

This anthem is a symbol of BLR Airport’s commitment to providing a world-class experience that extends beyond mere efficiency. It’s our way of connecting with travellers on an emotional level, creating a sense of place and belonging.

How does the anthem reflect the airport's values and mission?

At BLR Airport, we connect people, places, and consequentially cultures. The anthem's melody, with its blend of influences, beautifully reflects this mission. As we move forward to become the preferred Gateway to India, we aim to connect the people of Bengaluru to the world and beyond, while also bringing the world to Bengaluru. This is the essence of our anthem – “The world is waiting for you.”

BLR Airport is much more than just a transportation hub for Bengaluru; it is a cultural landmark that embodies the city's spirit. The airport's design reflects Bengaluru’s innovation and vibrancy, while the constant flow of people connects the city to the world. This anthem places BLR Airport at the heart of this story, serving as a bridge that connects Bengaluru to the world.

How does this collaboration with Ricky Kej and Lonnie Park demonstrate BLR Airport's commitment to innovation and customer experience?

BLR Airport is more than a place to catch a flight; it’s a destination that celebrates culture, and human connection. This anthem embodies the spirit of innovation and hospitality that we strive to offer every passenger.
