BENGALURU: Prominent speakers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal Secular (JDS) at the launch of padayatra on Saturday from Bengaluru to Mysuru city demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Sidddaramaiah over scams in Mysore Urban Development Authority and Valmiki Corporation, exuded confidence of end of Congress rule in Karnataka soon.

State president of JDS in Karnataka, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy on Saturday stated the Congress government in Karnataka would not last more than 10 months forget about 10 years of rule.

In Kengeri where the padayatra was kicked off, Kumaraswamy addressing the gathering, ruled out any threat to the Congress government in Karnataka but the Congress party is losing out on an opportunity to serve the people and alleged the Congress government is getting caught in scams one after the other.

Both the parties have decided to tell the people of the State scams during the Congress rule in the State and the padayatra to Mysuru will help garner people's support to them against the ruling party, said Kumaraswamy.

In his speech, State president of BJP and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra exuded confidence of dislodging the State Government in coming days and the scams during the Congress rule in the State unveiled the ‘socialist’ mask worn by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

He said the padayatra will bring down the Congress government and termed the Congress rule in Karnataka as “corrupt.” But the Congress party in turn pointed fingers at BJP and accused BJP leaders of being “corrupt.”

Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa expressed confidence that Siddaramaiah would resign as Chief Minister before the padayatra ends in Mysuru city on August 10 and asked Siddaramaiah to make a graceful exit as Chief Minister. The fight of BJP-JDS will continue till a coalition government of BJP and JDS returns to power in Karnataka.
