BJP MLA Yatnal Questions Authenticity of Show Cause Notice

BENGALURU: Taking cognizance of his utterances against State leadership, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Central Disciplinary Committee served a show cause notice to party MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and asked for his reply within 10-days. However, Yatnal questioned the authenticity of the show cause notice to him and stated “What’s the guarantee that the show cause notice is sent by the Chairman of the disciplinary committee?"

Yatnal, representing Vijayapura Assembly seat, said he will not stop his fight against dynastic politics in an oblique reference to former Chief Minister and BJP Central Committee Parliamentary Member B.S Yediyurappa and his son and State BJP Chief B.Y. Vijayendra.

In the show cause notice served by Om Pathak, Member Secretary Central Disciplinary Committee, warned Yatnal that if he failed to reply within the stipulated time then the Central Disciplinary Committee will proceed to take a final call in the matter.

The notice stated Yatnal the Central Disciplinary Committee served show cause notices on a couple of occasions yet the acts of indiscipline continue unabated and the Committee earlier took a lenient view considering his seniority in the party.

When sought his reaction, Yatnal told reporters in Bengaluru, assuming that if the show notice to him has reached him through whatsapp and then “What’s the guarantee that the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee has sent the notice to me from his number?”

“The show notice should reach me either through e-mail or through a registered post,” Yatnal said and stated “I will reply to the notice served on me.”

Continuing his attack on former Chief Minister and BJP Central Committee Parliamentary Member B.S Yediyurappa and his son and State BJP Chief B.Y. Vijayendra, Yatnal accused both of “colluding” with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, belonging to the Congress party.

Over the notice, Yatnal said he does not fear and stated “Do you think I will fall at the feet of Yediyurappa (by serving notice)?” “I have nothing to fear,” he asserted and stated "Yediyurappa should fear since he is facing corruption among other charges."
