DC Divakara’s Surprise Visit Exposes Hosapete Hospital Issues
HOSAPETA: Vijayanagara District Deputy Commissioner MS Divakara conducted a surprise inspection at the government hospital in Hosapete City on Friday, following complaints about inadequate facilities and overcrowding.
The surprise visit shed light on pressing concerns within the hospital, particularly the need for better management and infrastructure to accommodate the increasing number of patients.
The DC during his visit interacted with the patients, and their family members and understood their problems. He also had discussions with the officials.
DC Divakara, who noticed the congestion at the hospital’s registration counters, instructed hospital authorities to implement additional counters immediately, aiming to reduce patient wait times.
He also emphasized the need for proper seating arrangements both inside and outside the hospital, ensuring that visitors and patients have a comfortable space while awaiting their services.
The DC suggested relocating the outpatient department (OPD) to an external area of the hospital building to reduce overcrowding inside.
He inspected various wards in the hospital and issued strict orders to repair minor damages within a month.
A particular focus of the visit was the hospital’s pharmacy and medical supplies. DC Divakara directed medical officers to ensure that all necessary medications are made available within the hospital premises itself. He warned against any practice of directing patients to purchase medicines from external sources, stressing that disciplinary action would be taken against any medical staff involved in such activities.
He instructed officials to establish a dedicated 10-bed ICU unit in the hospital.
Engaging with patients during his visit, DC Divakara discussed the quality of services provided and urged the public to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness and order within the hospital. He also appealed to the community to support the hospital staff in ensuring a peaceful and sanitary environment.
