Eshwarappa criticizes BJP leadership in Karnataka

Mangaluru: Former minister KS Eshwarappa expressed dissatisfaction with the BJP leadership in Karnataka and alleged that the party is in the clutches of BS Yediyurappa.

"Only those close to Yediyurappa and his family hold influential positions within the party.

Eshwarappa, who had served in various capacities in the BJP was expelled from the party for contesting as a rebel candidate in Shimoga in the Parliament Election.

Speaking to reporters in Mangaluru on Tuesday, Eshwarappa criticized the BJP for adopting what he termed a "Congress culture."

He pointed out that while Yediyurappa was a member of the National Election Committee, one of his sons is an MP and the other is a state president and MLA.

"The BJP needs to be freed from family politics. The party needs a purification," he said.

He also emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the party.

"No one can separate me from the party. They have expelled me, but remember, Shettar was also expelled, who later joined Congress and became MLC, only to return to the BJP. I have always been with the BJP," he said.
