Four of a family found dead in Mysuru
Though police are yet to ascertain the cause of deaths, it is suspected growing pressure on Chetan over financial problems might have forced him to take drastic steps to end his life along with his family members

BENGALURU: Mystery shrouds over deaths of four of a same family in the same complex of an apartment in Industrial Suburban in Vishveshwar Nagar in Mysuru city on Monday. While a person was discovered in a hanging state and three others allegedly to have smothered to death with a pillow after administering poison.
Though police are yet to ascertain the cause of deaths, it is suspected growing pressure on Chetan over financial problems might have forced him to take drastic steps to end his life along with his family members.
The deceased Chetan (45), a labour contractor, his wife Rupali (43), son Kushal (15) and his mother Priyamvada (62). Chetan, a native of Gorur in Arkalgudu taluk of Hassan district, settled in Mysuru city in 2019 returning from Dubai. He was a mechanical engineer and worked as an online labour contractor assisting graduates to get employment in Dubai-based companies.
On Sunday, Chetan visited temples in Gorur before returning to Mysuru where he had dinner at his in-laws house in Kuvempunagar. Later, Chetan left for his apartment with his family members.
It is said Chetan at around 4 am on Monday called his brother in the United States and informed him about his plans to end his life along with his family members. Chetan’s brother informed the parents of Rupali and police were informed.
On reaching the spot, police discovered the bodies of Chetan, his wife Rupali and son Kushal in one apartment while his mother’s body was retrieved from another apartment located in the same complex.
Commissioner of Police Seema Latkar told reporters exact cause of the deaths will be known after the investigation. Vidyaranyapuram police registered a cased and investigations are underway.
