Hubballi: Five Injured in Acid Incident During Domestic Fight

Dharwad: A domestic quarrel over a trivial issue reportedly turned violent in Tarihal village on the outskirts of Hubballi on Saturday, leaving five persons, including a child, injured after acid used for cleaning metals was allegedly thrown during the altercation.
The incident occurred at Vajpayee Nagar in Tarihal village under Hubballi Rural police limits.
According to police sources, the family had stored acid at home for cleaning metal items. Trouble reportedly began around 10.30 am when an argument broke out between Suresh and his wife over a minor issue related to clicking photos on mobile phone. According to initial reports it is said Suresh’s wife had allegedly objected to him clicking photographs of family members, leading to a heated exchange between the couple.
During the quarrel, Suresh allegedly thrashed his wife. In the course of the altercation, he is said to have brought the acid kept in the house, resulting in injuries to his wife, his five month old son and two relatives. Suresh himself also sustained injuries in the incident.
All the injured persons were immediately shifted for treatment, police said.
Hubballi Rural police have registered a case. Investigation is in progress.
