Mangaluru: Party’s victory in Delhi Assembly has brought happiness among the BJP leaders in Karnataka. Vijayotsava was held in various parts of the state with leaders distributing sweets and hailing the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta termed the BJP’s decisive victory in Delhi as a reflection of the people’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat-Viksit Delhi.’
Speaking at a victory celebration with BJP leaders and workers in Belthangady, Chowta said, “The people of Delhi have shattered the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ built on lies, deception, and corruption. This victory has not only made the national capital ‘AAP-mukt’ but has also marked the beginning of a new era of trust and development.”
"After 27 years of stagnation, Delhi is set to witness a new phase of progress," Chowta added, congratulating BJP leaders and party workers for their efforts in securing the victory.
Chowta attributed the BJP’s triumph to PM Modi’s leadership and the electorate’s growing disillusionment with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He noted that his recent campaign visits to Harinagar and Kasturba Nagar had revealed strong support for the BJP, which was confirmed by the election results.
He emphasized that this mandate for the BJP would strengthen PM Modi’s leadership in the national capital, ensuring rapid development under the ‘double-engine’ government.
At Bagalkot Former MLA Dr. Veeranna Charantimath hailed the BJP’s significant victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, calling it a triumph for the party, the nation, and every Indian striving for the vision of a new India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Speaking at a BJP victory celebration at Basaveshwara Circle in Bagalkot, where party members distributed sweets to mark the win, Charantimath emphasized that the BJP's return to power in Delhi after 27 years was a testament to the hard work of its party workers and the people’s faith in PM Modi.
Referring to Arvind Kejriwal’s downfall, Charantimath remarked, “Kejriwal, who emerged from Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement, failed to maintain his credibility. This led to the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) defeat.” He further highlighted that the BJP secured victory in 48 out of 70 seats, attaining a two-thirds majority to form a stable government in the capital.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Assembly R. Ashoka took a jibe at Congress leader and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar over the party’s dismal performance in the Delhi Assembly elections, sarcastically congratulating him for supporting Rahul Gandhi in ensuring a "zero-seat" outcome.
In a post on X, Ashoka wrote, "Hearty congratulations to star campaigner DK Shivakumar for standing firmly behind Rahul Gandhi and helping Congress achieve zero seats in the Delhi Assembly elections."
He also alleged growing internal rifts within Karnataka Congress, stating that in the backdrop of Delhi results Siddaramaiah’s faction is allegedly writing secret letters to the party high command, questioning the future of Congress in Karnataka if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is sidelined.
