Karnataka BJP General Secretary Files Defamation Complaint Against Congress MLA Ravi Ganiga
DHARWAD: BJP State General Secretary P Rajeev has lodged a formal complaint against Congress MLA Ravi Ganiga, accusing him of making false and defamatory allegations against senior BJP leaders, including Union Minister Pralhad Joshi. The complaint was filed at the Hubballi Suburban Police Station on August 25.
According to Rajeev, the complaint stems from Ganiga's alleged claims that BJP leaders were conspiring to topple the Congress government by offering bribes ranging from Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore to Congress MLAs. Rajeev stated that he was informed of these allegations by BJP's media coordinator Karunakar Khasale, who called him at 2.26 pm on August 25 to report that Ganiga had made these baseless statements intended to damage the reputation of BJP leaders.
In his complaint, Rajeev emphasized that making unsubstantiated allegations of such a serious nature constitutes a criminal offense.
The complaint further underscores that offering or accepting bribes of ₹50 crore to ₹100 crore and concealing such conspiracies is a clear violation of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Rajeev has called for appropriate legal action to be taken against the Congress MLA.
