Karnataka: Covid probe report to be placed before Cabinet meet on Thursday, says CM

In reply to the former minister for Health and Family Welfare Services D. Sudhakar that recommendations in D’Cunha report are politically motivated, Siddaramaiah said “Nobody knows the recommendations in the report” and questioned “How did he (Sudhakar) come to know about the recommendations?”

BENGALURU: The Cabinet meeting on Thursday will take a call on the recommendations made by Justice John Michael D’Cunha in his investigation report on alleged irregularities in Karnataka during Covid-19 pandemic, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The Covid-19 alleged irregularities report was submitted by Justice John Michael D’Cunha to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on Saturday.

In a chat with reporters in Mysuru city, Siddaramaiah said he has not gone through the recommendations made by Justice D’Cunha in his report and the report will be placed in the Cabinet meeting where a decision will be taken.

To another query that report submitted D’Cunha reportedly recommended for criminal action against erring persons and the irregularities amounted to about Rs 7,000 crore during Covid-19, Chief Minister reteriated “I don’t know the recommendations” and stated “The statement by former minister D. Sudhakar shows guilt in him.”
