Karnataka: Darshan Talks to Wife Following Chargesheet Submission
Ballari: Actor Darshan, currently in judicial custody at Ballari Prison, communicated with his wife today through the prison's call facility. This interaction followed the submission of a 3,991-page charge sheet by the police to the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Bengaluru. The charge sheet names 17 accused individuals, including Darshan Tugudeepa, who is listed as the second accused (A2) in the alleged murder of Renukaswami.
Sources indicate that after the charge sheet was filed, Darshan requested access to the prison's call facility, which allows inmates to speak with their family members or legal representatives. Utilizing this service, he spoke to his wife.
Darshan has been in judicial custody for over two months, facing charges related to Renukaswami’s murder. Initially jailed at Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara prison, he was transferred to Ballari prison on August 29 following a controversy.
The controversy erupted when a photo of Darshan drinking coffee, and smoking a cigarette, and a video clip of him making a video call went viral. This prompted the authorities to initiate a series of transfers for individuals linked to the case, leading to Darshan’s relocation to Ballari.
