Karnataka: GTTC, Gulbarga Varsity Sign MoU for Skill Development Center
Kalaburagi: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government Tool and Training Centre (GTTC) and Gulbarga University on Tuesday to establish a Multi-Skill Development Center (MSDC) on the university premises in the presence of Minister for Skill Development Dr Sharan Prakash Patil.
“The center, to be built on 25 acres at a cost of Rs 120 crore, aims to provide world-class training from high school to postgraduate levels under the vision of 'Local Skills, Global Jobs.' The center's multi-skill training programs are designed to prepare students for global opportunities by equipping them with the skills to excel in any domain worldwide while utilizing local expertise. This will create a superior human resource pool,” Dr Patil explained while addressing the event.
“The establishment of a large-scale and multi-skill development center in the Kalyana Karnataka region will offer better training and greater opportunities for the local population. Similar centers will be established in three other locations across the state- Kalaburagi, Tallakal in Koppal district, and Varuna in Mysuru district,” Dr Patil informed.
The Minister emphasised the need for entrepreneurship and innovation, stating that this initiative would empower not only students but also youth and women, enabling them to achieve self-reliance.
