Karnataka: Shocking Images Emerge of Actor Darshan’s Alleged Torture

Bengaluru: About a dozen pictures of alleged murder of Renuka Swamy by actor Darshan Tugudeepa was circulated in public domain on Thursday and the pictures reportedly of the crime scene threw light on the torture meted to the victim by the actor and his associates before he succumbed to his injuries on June 8 this year in Bengaluru city.

Currently, the actor and his 16 associates including his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda are in judicial custody. Police submitted a charge sheet against the accused person to 24th Additional Metropolitan Magistrate, Bengaluru city on Wednesday.

Renukaswamy is alleged to have been murdered by the actor and his accomplices over the victim sending lewd pictures to Pavthira Gowda, the actor’s girlfriend. Enraged over the lewd pictures posted to his girlfriend, the actor is said to have given orders to his associates to ferry Renukaswamy to Bengaluru from Chitradurga, about 250 km away.

In one of the photographs, the victim Renuka Swamy was seen shirtless and pleading to be pardoned but his plea went unheeded as the actor and his associates thrashed him black and blue leading to his death. Later, the body of the victim was dumped on a roadside in Sumanahalli of Bengaluru city under Kamakshipalya police station. A security guard in an apartment discovered the body of the victim in a pile of garbage and informed the police.

Similarly, a series of photographs showed the body of Renukaswamy with injuries on his body, head and face. The car with the body of Renukaswamy was also circulated before the actor’s associates dumped it in the pile of garbage. Bruise marks indicating that the victim was beaten up by the actor’s associates using sticks were visible in the photographs.

Upon investigation and gathering details of the incident, police established the identities of some of the associates of Darshan alleged to have been involved in the murder of Renukaswamy. Thereafter, the actor was arrested by the police from Mysuru, the actor’s native place.
