KC Venugopal's Statement is Final, Say Senior Ministers

Leaders back AICC statement; official clarity expected on Thursday

Bengaluru: Senior ministers in the Karnataka government have dismissed speculation over a possible leadership change, reiterating that no such discussion took place during the recent meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in New Delhi.

Backing the statement of AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal, ministers said they would wait for an official announcement expected on Thursday.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister K. H. Muniyappa said he would not go beyond Venugopal’s statement and added that he would abide by the party high command’s decision. Home Minister G. Parameshwara also said any decision taken by the leadership would be announced by AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, who is expected to arrive in Bengaluru.

Large Scale Industries Minister M. B. Patil termed Venugopal’s statement as final, clarifying that discussions in Delhi were limited to the upcoming Rajya Sabha and Council elections.

Ministers collectively dismissed reports of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation as mere speculation, asserting that any leadership change would only arise if formally discussed by the party high command.
