KSDL presents dividend to Karnataka CM
Belagavi: Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil and KSDL Chairman Nada Gowda presented a dividend cheque of Rs. 108.62 crore from Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday. This amount represents 30% of KSDL's profit of Rs. 362.07 crore for the fiscal year 2023-24.
This is the highest-ever dividend paid by the enterprise in its history. Additionally, a cheque of Rs. 5 crore was handed over to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Expressing his appreciation, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “It is a positive development that public sector enterprises are conducting profitable operations. Five years ago, KSDL contributed a dividend of Rs 15.91 crore. This year, it has surpassed Rs 108 crore, which is commendable.”
Speaking on the occasion, Minister M.B. Patil noted, “KSDL has been thriving under the current government. Efforts are being made to take this growth to greater heights and establish a global market presence. New initiatives and product launches have contributed to this success.”
KSDL Chairman C.S. Nadagouda explained that as per regulations, public enterprises are required to remit 30 percent of their profits to the government, and the dividend cheque has been transferred in compliance with this rule.
Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister LK Atheeq, Industries Department Principal Secretary S. Selvakumar and others were present.
