NEET Aspirant Found Dead in Karnataka's Kalaburagi

The deceased Bhagyashree (18), was doing well academically and had passed the PUC exam with 92 per cent marks, Rajashekhar told reporters

Kalaburagi: An 18-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Kalaburagi on Saturday. The deceased had recently written her second-year PUC and had also appeared for the NEET examination.

“What can I say about the incident? She may have had some feelings which we do not know about. I do not blame anybody or suspect anyone. We do not know what was going on in her mind,” her father told reporters.
“She had a feeling about writing the NEET exam again and she was silent. I had told her not to worry. She had scored 92 per cent in PUC and had done well in the exam. She wanted to become a doctor. But she had been silent and appeared disturbed in recent days,” the girl’s father said.
Police said Bhagyashree was alone at home on Saturday morning after her mother, Umadevi, stepped out to purchase ration supplies. When she returned around 1 pm, she found her daughter hanging in the bedroom of the house. Family members immediately brought her down, but she had already died.
In his complaint to the police, the father stated that his daughter may have taken the extreme step due to distress over some personal issue. The family told police that they did not suspect anyone’s involvement in the incident.
A case of unnatural death has been registered at Station Bazar Police Station under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and further investigation is underway.
