BENGALURU: Taking note of the inconvenience caused to the public visiting the police station by gathering of people around Annapoorneshwari police station where Kannada cine actor Darshan Tugudeepa, a murder accused, is in custody, Bengaluru city Commissioner of Police B. Dayanand imposed prohibitory order under section 144 of CrPC.

The order will be in force from Thursday till Monday and gathering of people more than 5 around 200-meters of the police station has been prohibited according to the order issued by the Police Commissioner.

The prohibitory order by the Police Commissioner also barred holding processions or meeting, carrying weapons, sticks, stones among others and persons have also been asked not to indulge in bursting crackers. The prohibitory orders also barred burning of effigies and shouting slogans.

Actor Darshan has been questioned by Annapoorneshwari police over the alleged murder of Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga. It is alleged that associates of Darshan reportedly ferried the victim on the directions of the actor from Chitradurga to Bengaluru and assaulted him leading to his death.

The alleged murder is said to have taken place over some of the ‘derogatory’ posts by the victim against actor’s alleged girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, who is also detained by the police in connection with the crime.

The body was dumped on the roadside in Sumanahalli of Bengaluru city and the body was discovered on June 9. Later, police established his identity and gathered clues on the person who dumped the body of the victim.

Police came to know about the alleged link of the actor in the murder case and secured him from Mysuru district, the native place of Darshan. As many as 10 associates of Darshan have been detained by the police in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy.
