Bidar : Newly appointed Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister Eshwar B Khandre has said that it was his dream to transform Bidar district, which he described as having remained backward for centuries, into a region on par with Bengaluru and Mysuru in terms of development.
Addressing people from Bidar who met him in Bengaluru to congratulate him on his induction into the Cabinet, Khandre said the district, known as the land of Basava and the Sharanas, deserved much greater progress in the fields of industry, education, and social development.
"Bidar has remained severely backward despite its rich legacy. My dream is to see it develop on the lines of Bengaluru and Mysuru, and I will work beyond my capacity to achieve that goal," he assured.
Khandre said the affection and trust reposed in him by the people of Bidar had played a key role in his political journey and that their blessings had enabled him to serve as a minister for the third time. He thanked the people of the state, the Chief Minister, and the Congress leadership for giving him the opportunity.
Assuring that he would always stand by the people in both good times and bad, he remarked that political power was temporary, but the trust and affection of the people endured forever.
Khandre assured that the Congress government was committed to the welfare of the poor, the oppressed, Dalits, backward communities, and other vulnerable sections of society.
He said the government had provided people-centric governance over the past three years and expressed confidence that its performance during the remainder of the term would help the party return to power in the 2028 Assembly elections.
