Rowdy-sheeter hacked to death in Bengaluru

Police said 11 cases were registered against Hyder Ali in Ashok Nagar police station on charges of extortion, rioting, attempt to murder among others

BENGALURU: A rowdy-sheeter identified as Hyder Ali (38) allegedly murder a group of about 10 persons near a shopping mall under Ashok Nagar police station limits of Bengaluru city at around 1.30 am on Sunday. It is said Hyder Ali was close to a Congress MLA but police denied that the deceased has any political party affiliation.

Police said 11 cases were registered against Hyder Ali in Ashok Nagar police station on charges of extortion, rioting, attempt to murder among others. He was a rowdy-sheeter since 2014 and a resident of Ane Palya of Bengaluru city. He was running a government shop in Fraser Town of Bengaluru city.

The attack on Hyder Ali took place after he was returning from a bar with his friend on a two-wheeler. Some people stalked Hyder Ali all through before they intercepted him in a car near the football stadium. The group launched an attack with lethal weapons on Hyder Ali and his friend leaving Hyder Ali dead. Ali’s friend whose identity could not be known sustained minor injuries.

Police have formed teams to nab the accused and a case has been registered at Ashok Nagar police station.
