Rs 25000 Fine On Parents For Minor's Two-Wheeler Ride
A case was registered against minor's parents at the Vijayapura Traffic Police Station for permitting a minor to operate a vehicle.

Vijayapura : A court in Vijayapura has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the parents of a minor who was found riding a two-wheeler in the city, with authorities stepping up enforcement against underage driving.
On May 2 near Patil Planet on Solapur Road, traffic police personnel intercepted a boy riding a scooter. On verification, he was found to be underage. A case was registered against his parents at the Vijayapura Traffic Police Station for permitting a minor to operate a vehicle.
The police later filed a charge sheet before the Principal Senior Civil Judge and CJM Court. Hearing the case, the court on May 4 imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the parents and also ordered cancellation of the vehicle’s registration for one year.
Superintendent of Police Lakshman Nimbargi said the action was part of a broader enforcement effort. “We are taking this up as a drive where minors are driving vehicles, to create awareness and responsibility among those concerned,” he told reporters.
Police officials have urged parents not to allow underage children to drive and strictly adhere to traffic rules.
