Siddaramaiah Lack Moral Authority to Demand Minister’s Resignation: Bommai

Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, Bommai criticized Congress leaders for their lofty rhetoric about uplifting SC/ST communities while allegedly looting funds meant for these communities.

He claimed the embezzled money was transferred to benami bank accounts and also cooperative society in Telangana during the election period.

"While Minister Nagendra denied giving any oral instructions, the Corporation MD alleged his signature was forged. The scam would not have taken place without their involvement. Rupees 94 crore wouldn't have been looted without their blessings," he said and insisted the concerned minister should have already resigned.

Bommai also highlighted the double standards of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, who vociferously demanded Eshwarappa's resignation in a similar situation.

Bommai expressed doubts about the impartiality of the CID investigation, stating that it cannot properly investigate a sitting minister. He called for the scam to be referred to the CBI.

"The involvement of government and bank officials necessitates a CBI probe. This money has gone for the election funding. The Minister must resign for an impartial probe," he added.

He stated that Home Minister Dr. Parameshwara claimed the case differed from Eshwarappa's.

"But this case was more serious than the Eshwarappa case as irregularities has happened in the corporation and an accountant has committed suicide. Without this, the case would not have come to light. The deceased officer has revealed where all the money has gone. However even without the death note, Eshwarappa had given resignation," he added.
