Siddaramaiah Vows Legal and Political Battle Over MUDA Case, Slams Yediyurappa
BELAGAVI: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has declared to confront the ongoing MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) case head-on, both legally and politically.
Speaking to reporters in Belagavi on Monday, Siddaramaiah said that his government has formally requested the Governor to withdraw the show-cause notice issued in connection with the case and to dismiss the complaint filed by activist TJ Abraham. The government is awaiting the Governor’s decision.
"We will fight this (MUDA case) legally and politically," he declared.
In a subsequent media interaction, Siddaramaiah did not hold back when questioned about former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s recent comment that Siddaramaiah would resign before the BJP-JD(S) Padayatra reached Mysuru.
The Chief Minister questioned Yediyurappa’s moral authority.
“He is accused in a POCSO case. Is someone with such allegations fit to be in politics? How many cases are pending against him? What moral right does he have to demand my resignation?” Siddaramaiah questioned.
“A chargesheet has been filed against him in the POCSO case, and he is only out on bail—otherwise, he would be behind bars. He has a donkey on his own plate,” the CM added.
Siddaramaiah also took the opportunity to counter BJP’s claims about the state’s financial condition.
Responding to allegations that Karnataka lacks funds, the Chief Minister accused the BJP of spreading false information.
“If there is no money, how are we providing money for this (flood relief and other works)? These are baseless allegations,” he said.
“The BJP did nothing while in power and now they resort to making false statements. They are experts at this, trained by the RSS to make lies seem like the truth,” he added.
