Viral Video: Yamaraja and Chitragupta Conducts mock long jump competition in Udupi

Hyderabad: A unique protest against the government's poor maintenance of roads was witnessed in Udupi, Karnataka.

Some activists dressed as Yamaraja and Chitragupta held a long jump competition on pothole-filled roads since the Udupi-Malpe Road is damaged from numerous potholes.
The Video of the unique protest is making rounds on social media.
In the video, a man dressed up as Yamaraja was seen standing next to a pothole, inviting individuals who resembled witches to jump over them for as long as they could. Using a measuring tape, another man dressed like Chitragupta determined the jump's distance.

The demonstration serves as an illustration of how the poor state of the Udupi-Malpe road has made it a death trap for commuters. It also demonstrated how lawmakers and officials are unaffected by the damaged roadways. People requested that local authorities and corporations step in and fix the roads after the video went viral.

"Why are the Corporators, MLA, and MP of Udupi not taking up the issue with the authorities?" a user asked.
Another user wrote, "Only in India…We can laugh at our own troubles! This is really hilarious. The irony of it!"
"It’s same across India. If water-logging is the issue why flyovers have massive potholes," another user wrote.
