Woman electrocuted while helping son board school bus in Karnataka

In a harrowing incident caught on CCTV, a woman in Karnataka's Kalburgi suffered a severe electric shock while helping her disabled son board a school bus. The 34-year-old woman, Bhagyashree, and her son, both sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Bhagyashree's condition remains critical, though her son is reportedly out of danger.

The shocking footage reveals the moment of the incident. At 9:21 am, as Bhagyashree stood at the bus stop with her son, the school bus arrived. As she moved toward the bus to help her son get on, she suddenly collapsed. Sparks were seen emitting from her body as she fell, and bystanders were visibly startled. Despite several attempts by onlookers to help, they were forced to step back after witnessing multiple sparks. One man, who initially approached her, retreated after a massive spark.

The crowd eventually urged the bus driver to move the vehicle forward to free Bhagyashree. According to the police, the incident was triggered by an electric cable hanging near the bus stop. As the bus approached, the cable made contact with the vehicle, and Bhagyashree was electrocuted when she touched the bus. Authorities are investigating the cause of the unsafe cable placement.
