CPM releases footage of Congress Worker with Trolley Bag
Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM on Wednesday released CCTV footage from a hotel showing a Congress worker with a trolley bag in the presence of senior leaders.
The CPM claimed that the bag contained black money, but did not provide evidence to support their accusation. Congress candidate Rahul Mamkootathil criticized the CPM for propagating false information.
"The CPM leaders have descended to absurd levels. Do they possess any evidence that the trolley bag contained money? I challenge them to substantiate it. The bag was filled with our clothes," he stated.
The Congress leaders have suggested that the trolley bag seen in the CCTV footage could be examined with state-of-the-art technology to reveal its contents.
The CCTV footage distinctly depicts the Congress leaders as they walk through the corridor, engaging in conversation.
Meanwhile, police teams are examining the CCTV footage from the hotel where a search took place at midnight on Tuesday. Previously, officers seized the hard disk that holds the CCTV footage from the KPM hotel. The footage, beginning from the moment the police received the tip-off, is under scrutiny.
The South Circle Inspector is supervising the investigation with the aid of cyber specialists and special branch officers. The raid conducted in the hotel rooms of female Congress leaders has ignited considerable controversy.
