Double Murder Shocks Kerala Village

Thiruvananthapuram: A gruesome double murder has shocked a village in the Palakkad district of Kerala. The accused, Chenthamara, who was recently released on parole, brutally hacked to death Meenakshi, 76, and her son Sudhakaran, 58 at Pothundi Thiruthampadam Boyan Colony on Monday morning. The police reported that the fatal attack occurred at Sudhakaran's residence shortly after an altercation between him and Chenthamara.
Chenthamara who had been in jail since 2019 for the murder of Sudhakaran's wife, Sajitha, and fled the scene immediately after committing this heinous crime.
Investigations into Sajitha's murder revealed that Chenthamara suspected Sudhakaran's family and some local residents of being involved in the disappearance of his wife and child. This tragic incident comes just as the trial for Sajitha's murder is set to begin next month.
A massive manhunt has been launched to apprehend Chenthamara, who is believed to have fled into a nearby forest.
Sudhakaran's daughter has criticized the police, blaming them for the brutal murders of her father and grandmother. She stated that despite repeated complaints lodged with the police regarding threats faced by her family, no serious action had been taken against Chenthamara. Local residents have also staged strong protests, accusing the local police of total indifference.
