Elect Me, You Will Have a Determined Fighter by the Side, Priyanka Tells Voters in Wayanad

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra continued her campaign in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency for the second day in a row, holding rallies and public meetings.

"If you elect me to represent you in Parliament, I promise to work harder than anyone else. I will advocate for you, exert pressure on the state government and the centre. You will have by your side a determined fighter who does not shy away when your needs are challenged," she said.

The Congress candidate spoke at street corner meetings in Vythiri, Muttil, and Kalpetta on Monday. At each meeting, Priyanka reassured the people of Wayanad that she would advocate for them both on the streets and in Parliament.

She responded to opponents' criticisms regarding Rahul Gandhi's alleged lack of development in the constituency from 2019 to 2024. "Rahul initiated several projects in Wayanad, such as smart anganwadis, school buses, efforts to establish a medical college, and the welfare of plantation workers," she stated.

Priyanka pledged that, if elected, she would work to strengthen the agricultural sector, enhance food processing, market agricultural products, and develop projects to boost tourism. "This is a new journey for me. If you give me the opportunity, I will fight for you. I do not shy away from any battle; you can ask my husband and brother about it. I will stand with you, fighting on the streets and in Parliament," she declared.

BJP criticizes Priyanka and Rahul On Monday, former Union Minister and BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar stated that Priyanka Gandhi lacks understanding of Wayanad's developmental needs. "I urge you, journalists, when you have the opportunity to speak with her or interview her, please pose four questions about the major issues in Wayanad and their solutions. I am convinced that the brother-sister duo is clueless about Wayanad’s problems," he addressed the media.

The CPM-led LDF has also launched an attack on Priyanka Gandhi, accusing the Congress of undermining secular democratic forces.
