Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Pays Tribute to Victims of Kuwait Fire Accident

Kochi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh and other Ministers paid homages to the mortal remains of the 45 Indians killed in a tragic fire accident in Kuwait at Cochin International Airport. A special Air Force aircraft carrying the mortal remains reached Kerala today in the morning at 10:30 AM.

Speaking to reporters before the flight's landing, the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, "It is a never-ending loss for the families... The Government of Kuwait has taken effective and impeccable measures. It is expected that the follow-up will be flawless. When it came to know about the disaster, the Government of India also intervened in a proper manner."

Kerala government had announced that they will provide ₹5 lakh to each bereaved family and ₹1 lakh to the injured in the Kuwait fire accident.

The aircraft will leave for Delhi from Kochi as some of the Indians killed in the fire accident hailed from few north and eastern states.
