A 37-year-old woman gave birth to a baby on a state-run KSRTC bus in Thrissur, Kerala.
The woman travelling with her husband in Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus, went into labour. Considering her condition, the driver drove straight to the Amala hospital in Thrissur. As she was in so much pain to be moved inside the hospital, doctors and nurses rushed into the bus and performed the delivery inside the bus.

"The initiation of labour pain had already begun. At that point of time, it was impossible for us to shift her to the emergency department... Then we had to take out the child and cut the (umbilical) cord there itself. We made sure that the baby and the mother were safe... Currently, both are doing well. It was a different day and a new thing for us," A doctor of Amala Hospital, Dr Yasir Sulaiman told ANI.
