Three Scott College Students Die in Munnar Bus Crash

According to eyewitnesses, there were over 40 people on board the bus at the time of the accident and the majority of them were college students.

Thiruvananthapuram: In a tragic incident, three college students from Scott College in Nagercoil lost their lives when the tourist bus they were travelling in overturned at Echo Point, Mattupatty, near Munnar on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Archika and Venika , both BSc Computer Science students. The third person is yet to be identified.

The bus was carrying students from Scott College on an excursion to Munnar. According to a college who sustained injuries in the mishap, the bus was speeding towards a curve, which resulted in the accident.

The bus went out of control and overturned. Shortly after receiving information about the accident, personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department, along with police officers from the Munnar station, rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations.

According to eyewitnesses, there were over 40 people on board the bus at the time of the accident and the majority of them were college students.

The injured students were rushed to TATA Hospital in Munnar. The condition of the three injured students is reported to be critical.
